Twice Baked Potato Recipe

The twice baked potato recipe can be prepared by anyone; yes it is that easy. With just some basic ingredients and an oven, you are ready to start.

The recipe is simple to prepare. The ingredients are used often in many meals, so they are probably already at your kitchen.

  • 4 baking potatoes
  • 6 slices of cooked turkey bacon (separate 2 of them in a different container for topping) crumbled
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp butter (or natural butter spread)
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 green onion (sliced)
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt (for the potato mix)
  • extra salt (to taste, for rubbing the potato)
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper (optional)


  1. First, preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (177°C).
  2. Rinse the potatoes and use a vegetable brush to clean them carefully.

  3. Pierce the potatoes with a fork a couple of times.

  4. If you want, you can rub the potatoes with a little salt and olive oil.

  5. Put the potatoes in the oven and bake for about 60 minutes or until tender.

  6. Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, combine the cooked bacon, sour cream, heavy cream, milk, butter, salt, pepper, cheese, and green onion.

  7. Then, when the potatoes are ready, let them to cool for about 7 to 10 minutes.

  8. Carefully, cut a thin slice off top of each baked potato.

  9. Then, scoop out the center and put it in a separate bowl. 

  10. Now, add the potatoes' insides to the mix you had prepared before. 

  11. Combine completely with a whisk until it is soft.

  12. Finally, spoon the mixture into the potato skins. 

  13. Top each potato with the separated crumbled bacon.

  14. Now, bake for 7 more minutes.
