Ingredients:Scalloped potatoes

  • 6 medium size Russet potatoes
  • 3 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 6 ounces grated Swiss cheese
  • 1 tbsp regular butter (or natural butter spread)
  • ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • salt (to taste)


  1. The first step is to preheat the oven to 410°F (210°C).

  2. Peel the potatoes and cut them into slices of 1/8 inches thick.

  3. Brush a baking dish (2-quart) with 1 tablespoon of butter.

  4. In a large saucepan, pour the heavy cream and add the garlic. Use medium-high heat until it simmers. Add sea salt and ground pepper to your liking. Stir carefully.

  5. Place the potato slices into the saucepan with the rest of the ingredients. Spread them evenly and make sure they are all covered by the cream.

  6. Reduce the heat slightly and wait around 10 minutes or until they start to become tender. As soon as that happens; take them away from the heat.

  7. Move about 1/3 of the slices from the saucepan to the bottom of the baking dish. Do not forget to transfer part of the cream with the slices.

  8. Sprinkle 2 ounces of the grated cheese over the potato slices. Add another layer of slices with some cream to the dish. Spread evenly 2 ounces of cheese again.

  9. Put the final layer of potato slices in the baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheese at the top of the slices. Transfer the dish to a baking sheet and put it in the oven. Wait 40 minutes or until they get bubbly with a golden appearance.

  10. Take it out of the oven and let it rest for 4 minutes. Serve and enjoy the scalloped potatoes recipe!
