Potato Chowder Recipe

The potato chowder recipe is really very simple. It combines potatoes with cream cheese among a few other ingredients.

Using a slow cooker saves you time in the kitchen because you can cook a complete meal for the whole family using only a crockpot.

Servings: 7 to 9


  • 7 cups Russet potatoes (diced and then rinsed)
  • 1/2 cup onion (finely chopped)
  • 3 (14 1/2 ounce) cans chicken broth
  • 1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (in cubes) 
  • 1/2 lb to 1 lb regular or turkey bacon (fully cooked and crumbled)


  1. First combine the potatoes, onion, chicken broth and condensed soup in a crockpot.

  2. Then, cover the crockpot and cook on low for about 8 hours or until potatoes are soft and tender.

  3. Next, add the cream cheese cubes to the crock pot and mix all together.

  4. Finally, add the bacon on top before serving.
