Sweet Potato
Soup
The sweet potato soup recipe
combines ingredients like flour, onions, butter, chicken broth, sweet
potatoes, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt and pepper.

Ingredients:

tablespoon flour
- 3
tablespoons butter
- 2
1/2 cups chicken broth
- 3
sweet potatoes (large)
- 1/8
teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8
teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
- 1
cup milk
- Salt
and pepper to taste
- 1/2
cup chopped onions

- First, rinse sweet potatoes, peel and cut into cubes.
- Place sweet potatoes in a deep saucepan, cover with
water and bring to a boil for about 25 to 30 minutes.
- Then, in a separate saucepan, place butter, onions,
flour, and chicken broth and cook for about 10 minutes over low-medium
heat. Stir in constantly.
- Next, when ready, add the sweet potatoes and cook for
about 5 or 10 more minutes over low heat.
- Now, puree the soup in a blender or use a potato
masher if you want to do it by hand. When finished, return to the
saucepan and add milk, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Cook for about 5 more
minutes over low heat.
- Finally, season the soup with salt and pepper to
taste.
