How to Make Oven Fries


Eating oven fries is one way to eat healthy without having to sacrifice taste. In our modern society more people eat from fast food restaurants every day. One reason for this is the lack of time to prepare a good meal. Unfortunately this way of living is having terrible effects on our health. Many health conditions have been appearing and becoming more frequent each day.

Fries in wedges
One vegetable that has amazing versatility is the potato. Potatoes are very nutritious and you can make great meals with them. One of the mouthwatering dishes you can prepare with potatoes is oven fries. 


These kinds of fries are a bit different from the popular French fries. French fries are normally cooked in a frying pan with plenty of oil.


If the oil is of low quality it will probably have too much trans and unhealthy saturated fats, making the fries not so good for the health. Oven fries do not have that problem. This way of cooking fries barely needs oil; making them an ideal option for many people.



The process for making them is very simple.

  1. You begin by peeling the potatoes (Russet, for example) and cutting them into wedges of any size you see fit, just like the normal fries. 

  2. Then you preheat the oven to 400 Fahrenheit degrees (204°C) for approximately 5 minutes. 

  3. Once the oven is hot enough, turn it down to 350°F (177°C). 

  4. Then put the fries in it and toss some paprika and any other spice of your preference.

  5. Pour a bit of extra virgin olive oil over them and wait. 

  6. After 20 minutes turn the fries and wait for 20 minutes more. 

  7. Once the fries have the characteristic golden color you sprinkle them with some salt and they are ready.
