Microwave Scalloped Potatoes



The microwave scalloped potatoes is one dish you should not miss. As with other great potato recipes; cheese has to be present. The flavorful mix of potatoes and cheese is almost legendary in many family celebrations as well in casual meals. The recipe can be prepared using the traditional oven which can take up to approximately 1 hour or like in this case the microwave which usually only take a couple of minutes.


The recipe does not require complex steps and the fact that you will be using the microwave makes it quite convenient if you do not have much time available for the preparation of a meal. In the busy life people experience these days is hard to eat well and is even more difficult to take some time in the kitchen to make a homemade dish.

One of the benefits of this appetizing recipe is it can be prepared fairly quickly without much work. It takes only 10 minutes to prepare and about 12 minutes to be ready.

Servings: 4

Scalloped potatoes with cheese

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp all purpose flour (or potato flour)
  • dash of salt 
  • dash of pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter (or virgin coconut oil)
  • 3 medium red potatoes (sliced in scalloped style)
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (or your favorite)
  • 1 cup milk

Directions:

  1. Place the flour, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl.

  2. Then, grease a 2 quart microwave dish with the butter (or oil).

  3. Next, place sliced potatoes in the microwave dish. 

  4. Sprinkle with the flour mixture and put a bit of butter. Repeat until all ingredients are used.

  5. Sprinkle with the shredded cheese on top 

  6. Pour the milk over the potato slices to keep them moist.

  7. Microwave on high for about 10 to 12 minutes. 

  8. Remember turning once or twice.


Microwave scalloped potatoes are ideal for families; mothers that work hard the entire day have a chance of using this technique for creating a meal without hassle. 

Instead of using the typical frozen food to get the cooking out of the way; you can use the simple procedure described in this recipe to have a quick, and more importantly, a dish that can be enjoyed by the entire family in just a few minutes. Keep in mind that although potatoes prepared in this way are often used as a side dish it can still work as the main meal.
