The 6 Step Process for Making Crockpot Cheesy Potatoes

Making crockpot cheesy potatoes can't be easier. Imagine getting some ingredients and tossing them in a device that does all the cooking for you. That's pretty much what a slow cooker can do for you. Yes, you can say, it takes like 6 hours for it to get ready, but guess what, you can do whatever you want in that time. You can do some work, exercise, even play with your children and lots more without worrying while you are cooking the potatoes.

No one can resist the flavor and creamy texture of crockpot cheesy potatoes. Think about it, you can prepare this appetizing recipe without having to do much at all. I don't know about you, but if I can make something super yummy without having to do 20 tasks, I’m so doing it. This is an easy dish that you can use to surprise your family and friends that don't believe in your cooking skills (that will teach them a lesson). They are going to be excited as the soft texture of these potatoes blends with the unmistakable deliciousness of cheese in their palates.

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 6 1/2 to 7 hours

Servings: 5 to 6

Ingredients:

  • 8 medium size red potatoes
  • 8 ounces of Cheddar cheese (cut in cubes)
  • 8 ounces of sour cream
  • 1/2 cup of onions (chopped)
  • 1 can of cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups of crushed corn flakes (optional)

Directions:

  1. First, rinse the potatoes under running water to remove all the dirt they may have.

  2. Carefully, peel the potatoes and cut them in slices.

  3. Add the potatoes to the crockpot.

  4. Add the cheese, the sour cream, the onions, and the cream of mushroom soup to the crockpot.

  5. Cook everything on low heat until tender, for about 7 hours.

  6. If you want the corn flakes, add them 1 hour before the potatoes are ready. Why? Because one hour in low heat is going to give them the right temperature without ruining the texture, too much time and you are not going to love the result (too mushy).

  7. Serve and enjoy your meal.
