Creamy Scalloped Potatoes

The creamy scalloped potatoes recipe takes about 15 minutes to prepare and about 35 minutes hour to be ready. It is an easy and tasty recipe.

   

 

You need butter, milk, flour, salt and pepper, and of course, some potatoes.

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 35 minutes

4 to 6 servings

 

Ingredients:

 6 russet potatoes
 4 tbsp butter
 3 tbsp flour
 salt and pepper to taste
 1/4 chopped onion
 2 1/2 cup of milk


 

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 F degrees. Grease the bottom and side of a deep casserole.

  • Rinse potatoes under running water. Then, peel the potatoes. Cut them into 1/8 inch slices.

  • In a separate saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 2 minutes until tender.
  • Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Stirring constantly, cook until the sauce begins to boil. Then, remove saucepan from heat.

  • Next, stir in milk, and bring to boil and keep stirring constantly. (For about 1 minute).

  • Put the potatoes into a casserole. Add the sauce to cover the potatoes. Add 1 tablespoon of butter.

  • Finally, cover and bake for about 35 minutes, until potatoes are soft and tender. Wait about 5 minutes before serving.
