Creamy Scalloped Potatoes

The creamy scalloped potatoes recipe takes about 15 minutes to prepare and about 35 minutes hour to be ready. It is a very easy and tasty recipe.

 

 

Take a look at the recipe below. You need butter, milk, flour, salt and pepper, and of course, some potatoes. :)

Here is the recipe :

Preparation Time :  15 minutes

Cooking Time :      35 minutes

  4  to 6 servings

 

Ingredients:

 6 russet potatoes
 3 tbsp   butter
 3 tbsp  flour
 salt and pepper to taste
 1/4 chopped onion
 2 1/2 cup of milk
 1 tablespoon  butter


 

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 F degrees. Grease the bottom and side of a deep casserole.
  •  Rinse potatoes under running water. Then, peel the potatoes. Cut them into 1/8 inch slices.
  •  In a separate saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 2 minutes until tender. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Stirring constantly, cook until the sauce begins to boil. Then, remove saucepan from heat.
  •  Next, stir in milk, and bring  to boil and keep stirring constantly. (For about 1 minute).
  •  Put the potatoes into a casserole. Add the sauce to cover the potatoes. Add 1 tablespoon of butter.
  •  Finally, cover and bake for about 35 minutes, until potatoes are soft and tender. Wait about 5 minutes before serving.
