Candied Sweet Potatoes Recipe

Have you ever heard about candied sweet potatoes recipe? Well, this recipe combines ingredients like sweet potatoes, salt, brown sugar, butter, ground nutmeg, and ground cinnamon.

 

This recipe is very easy and is right for any occasion.

 

Cooking Time: 60 minutes

 

Ingredients:

 

  • 4 medium sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

 

  • First, rinse sweet potatoes, place in a deep pot, cover with water, and cook for about 30 to 35 minutes or until tender. When ready, let them cool. Then peel and sprinkle with salt, but just a little.

  • Then, preheat oven at 350 degrees F and place sweet potatoes in a baking dish.

  • Now, mix together brown sugar, butter, ground nutmeg, salt, and ground cinnamon. Put the mix in a saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until brown sugar is completely dissolved.  Next, when the glaze is ready, pour over sweet potatoes.

  • Finally, bake at 350 degrees F for about 15 minutes.
