Baked Sweet Potato Recipes

The baked sweet potato recipes are healthy and versatile since these vegetables contain many essential vitamins and minerals and can be prepared in a number of ways.


The traditional sweet potatoes can be served with chicken or turkey as well.

Traditional Baked Sweet Potatoes 

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 45 minutes

Serving size: 4 portions

Ingredients:

4 medium sweet potatoes (washed)
butter
5 tbsp brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp of cinnamon

  
Directions:

  • Preheat Oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Puncture sweet potatoes with a thin bladed knife or a fork.
  • Set on baking sheet.
  • Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until tender.
  • Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a dry container.
  • Cut a 1 and a half inch X in the center of each sweet potato.
  • Using a potholder hold each one and gently press upward until the flesh bursts through the X.
  • Top with a bit of butter and a tablespoon of the brown sugar and cinnamon mix.
